Portrait: Elyse, Jones & Gator

I'm sure all of you remember these three. They were the winners of the pet photo contest back a couple months ago. The fact that you can see framed photos of Gator hidden in the background of their entry was definitely the deal sealer for me choosing them. You know your dog is a member of your family when you specially frame your favorite photographs of them.

This couple was just as sweet and wonderful in person as they were in their entry. Elyse is so adorable and silly and Jones is a total man's man. Gator is his perfect hunting companion and the three of them make such an amazing, lovely family. I adore the way they look at each other and Gator's playful nature and sense of adventure. It was hilarious watch him prance around through the brush. Thank you again Elyse and Jones! You two are wonderful people and I can't wait to watch your lives grow in the years to come.

Business Cards

I'm super stoked to show all of you guys some photos of my brand spanking new business cards I got in the mail a few days ago. They are GORGEOUS and I can't even begin to control how in love I am with them. I gaze at them fondly and admire their sleek rounded corners and the smooth feel of the silk laminated card stock. They are everything I could have ever dreamed. I'm so lucky to have such an amazing graphic designer, CMorganDesign, and an amazing friend/mentor who never fails to share all of her amazing tips and tricks in this competitive industry, Anne Nunn. Not to mention, a phenomenal print shop! Cedar House Media did such an amazing job on these prints and I honestly couldn't believe how quickly they got them to me. I'm a big supporter of local businesses and am so glad that not only is my graphic designer a fellow Eugenian, but Cedar House is located super close as well in Beaverton, Oregon. Anyways, enough of giving credit to where credit is deserved. I'm sure you just want to see the photos of what they look like! Enjoy!

Family Portraits: Allysa, Josh and Emma

Surprises can be good ... or bad, especially on a photo shoot. A boggy swamp full of mosquitoes when you thought it was a nice dry field, is definitely a BAD surprise. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened this last week when I met up with Allysa and Josh to take photos of their adorable family. I'm sure you remember their daughter, Emma, from her cute photos of one of her first baths.

Allysa, Josh and Emma were all troopers. Emma was happy as a clam the entire time! I was so proud of her! Not to mention, Josh and Allysa didn't hesitate to walk a bit on a road with no sidewalk only to trek through a swampy area in pursuit of the least swamp-ish area to shoot in. Allysa also enjoyed the embarrassing roar of the bubble gun with me as I tried to control not only the bubble gun, but  take photos as well. All in all, I think it was a total success and a great time! I even have loads of mosquito bites just to remind me of how much fun we did have. Thank you, guys! You are an amazing family and I'm SO excited for your upcoming wedding! The love you have for one another and your daughter is evident in every single one of these photos. I can't wait to see your lives blossom together.

 This one is absolutely my favorite of the shoot. I'm pretty sure Allysa's hair is magical.

Events: Springfield High School Spring Choir Concert

I love going to high school events. Be it choir concerts, musicals or plays, I am there! I had the honor this last week of attending the Springfield High School Spring Choir Concert. A few of my friends and seniors from this past year were going to be in it, so how could I not be there? The singing was phenomenal, as well as the dancing. I'm a sucker for musical movies, so the minute the Grease songs started, I was in pure bliss. All of you kids were amazing and I'm so proud of each and every one of you. You gave it your all and you were (Obviously!) having the best time doing it.

I'm more than happy to attend and photograph any productions at the local high schools, so don't hesitate to send an e-mail my way letting me know of something going on at your high school.

Portrait: Katie

Katie is definitely one of my favorite people. She is always positive and bubbly, and you can't beat how in love she is with Disney princess movies (A girl after my own heart!). I had the pleasure of meeting her HILARIOUS dog, Oso, this time. He is by far the most awkward and human like dog I've ever met. He definitely had his own personality and he could practically talk with his constant antics and expressions. We braved the near rain weather and came out of it with fabulous photos. Thank you Katie and Oso! You are too cute and far too much fun!

I've chosen my reps! It was such a tough, tough decision, and I have to admit, I cheated again this year and chose more than I intended. i was only supposed to choose 2 from each school. But, I apparently have little to no self control, and had to actually pick 3 lucky ladies from Springfield High School. So here are the lucky students!

Oh man! Oh man!

Looks like it's that time again ... for another contest! I know you haven't gotten to see Elyse's photos with her handsome husband and sweet dog, but I promise they're on their way, and they will be well worth the wait! Now on to the part you realllyyyy care about ... the next contest!

The contest for June is going to be tattoos! I want to see your lovely tattoos and the stories, if any, that go along with them. I'm going to pick my personal favorite which will receive a 30 minute mini-session with me complete with a cd of the edited images (Typically 10-20). I know that this is a broad rating structure, and you'll have to forgive me for that, but I don't know how else to judge it! So, simply, I'm just going to pick my favorite!

To enter, write me an e-mail at kaelynephotography@gmail.com and tell me about your tattoo and why you got it. Please include a photo as well! (It's my favorite part!) As usual, it can be as long as a sentence or as in depth as a 3 page essay. Just surprise me! This contest will run to the end of June (June 30th). After that, I'll pick my winner and announce it to everyone as well as e-mailing you to let you know. I can't wait to see your entries.
